Fischer-Tropsch Diesel and Biofuels Exergy and Energy Analysis for Low Emissions Vehicles

This research investigates the effects of a synthetic diesel-like fuel (Fischer-Tropsch diesel) and biofuels (ethanol biodiesel) blends on energy-exergy efficiencies gaseous exhaust emissions characteristics compression ignition engine. Two alternative fuels denoted as E15B35FTD50 (15% ethanol, 35% biodiesel, 50% Fischer-Tropsch E15B35D50 were experimentally studied single-cylinder diesel engine compared to fuel. The results show that energetic exergetic are comparable those fueled with unburnt HC, NO, N2O, NH3 reduced for two diesel, while CO increased. light HC species found slightly increase in comparison However, total was considerably by combustion not only when combustion, but also E15B35D50. Overall, these may contribute identifying advantages limitations terms energetic-exergetic analysis new generation conventional hybrid electric vehicles aim achieve future regulations.
